Is it ok to put fuel system cleaner in our machines?

If you have the gray fuel lines in them you may want to start to think of replacing them with standard black fuel line and check/clean fuel selector.

The carbs have filters inside them. If they are clogged, they need to be removed to be cleaned properly or replaced. Carb cleaner additive may even loosen more stuff in lines just to be collected in the filter creating a lean condition that could lead to more serious damage to pistons/head...

If you believe you have water in the gas, drain it out and use it in your lawnmower.

Nothing beats regular maintenance...

If everything has been done and your just looking to reduce the chance of problems, some say carb cleaner additives damage the rubber diaphragms quicker leading to a carb/pump rebuild faster. idk I'm no expert and would like to know this myself.

Use marine stabil only. Anything else will dilute the oil that is lubricating your engine.

does the can say it can be used in a 2 stroke? my guess is it may have detergents that will cause an issue with the oil...

My blanket recommendation is to NEVER use a "pour in" cleaner in a 2-stroke. It can displace oil, and destry your engine.

The only thing you should put in your tank other than fuel or oil is stay-bil.

i'm with the Doc on this one,
cleaning the fuel system is best done the old fashioned way... by hand... make sure fuel lines are new, filters are clear, and carb filters & guts are all in good shape, also make sure your gas tank is clean and no debris or misc crap is inside, if all that is done, no need for additives :)
