Hope you guys can help out a wannabe!

We are a family of four looking for a Seadoo 3 seater that we can pull a tube/wakeboard without a problem. We don't want a fixer upper, but something in decent shape with reasonably low hours on it. Year is not as important as condition of ski. We are trying to stay in the range between $3000-$5000 dollars, may go higher for the right ski

This is an ad I have posted on my local Kijiji. I have a few questions I hope someone can spare the time to answer!
How many hours on a machine is considered high?
EX: 2002 waverunner xlt800 w/170hrs asking $5300 incl. trailer(Is this a deal?)
How much h.p. is needed to do what ad say?
What years can I reasonably look at in the stated price range?
Thanks for your time

Price seems a bit high for the year and hours, but it all really depends on how well it was kept, if it was used in salt water, how the trailer looks, ect. For that amount, your pretty close to getting a brand new 08 model, with all of the deals going on right now. I am not sure what are the prices in Canada, but i am sure there is some place that may have some 08's, or even some 07's that are willing to deal. Best of luck.

Thanks for you input I will check some of the local dealers and see what i come up with. Does anyone know how many hours on a machine is considered high and when buying used how many hours is too much? Thanks

well, i guess its all based on the area, really, the season for these are a lot longer down here in florida that they are up there, i am assuming. It really depends on how much he rode it. Looking back at it, i guess those hours are extremely high for that year. I have a few friends with them up in Michigan, and they ride their's every chance they get, until they have to put them away because of the water temp getting too cold.

150hrs or less is low.. 150 or more is high, average life of a ski is 300ish hrs... and my 93 gts has 60hp and it pulls a tube just fine:)

yeah, you can buy a 08 for $5000 i bet if you wait another week or two. a 215 hp 4tec would fit your family perfect im sure. dont jump on the first deal you see because one thing i have found when seadoo shopping is there is always a better deal the day after you buy one :(

I would go ahead and say go for a 155, i'm going to be honest with you, the 215 is a lot of horsepower, that being said, if you can find a 215 for that type of deal, go for it. Mine was around $7800 US currency per ski, before taxes, trailer, and what not.
