I replaced the voltage reg but that didn't help. all fuses and grounds are good. Anyone have any suggestions? Could it be the MPEM. I have seen a lot of post with this exact problem but not any resolutions.

By saying the grounds are good, does that mean you have continuity between the endpoint and the battery and you have 12 volts. These are analog gauges right? So you need 12 volts at each gauge and there should be a individual signal.

For example the tach is a pulse signal that is counted by a micro-chip in the tach gauge and turned into an analog output. So by focusing on the tach, we need 12 volts and the signal.

No 12 volts. There is a fuse bad, there is a corroded connector. No signal, maybe a bad computer. We need more infor to help you.

Yes to checking the fuses in the EFB. I have a new fully charged battery and I have checked every single fuse in the entire boat. Is there any way to tell if the EFB is defective. I have had someone else suggest it as the possible culprit. Thank you for your help.

On my 1995 I had some sort of problem with my mpem (I am assuming) as I would turn the key and the gauges would turn on for a few seconds then shut back off. When I tested them by wiring them up so the power (or ground forget what it was controlled with) was not going through the mpem they worked fine. Unfortunately I did not pursue to problem anymore installed a switch next to the key that turned on the gauges and ran it for the rest of the year until I sold it.

Engine Signal
If voltage is appropriate and gauge is not working,
check tachometer signal wire fromVCM. If it tests
good, try a new VCM.
NOTE: The tachometer signal initially comes from
the CPS to the ECM and goes to VCM through
the communication link (CAN lines). If there is
a communication problem between modules, a
fault code will appear. Refer to DIAGNOSTIC
PROCEDURES in ENGINE MANAGEMENT.

Took the boat to the service technician. Ecu,MPEM, volt reg, Sendary fuse panel all tested good. Power spike is only thing I can think of that blew out all three gauges. I saw a post stating that Faria may repair gauges. The only good news is that I got a great deal on the boat and the engine was strong and only had 50hrs on the motor. Thanks for everyone's assistance.

i would have thought a power spike would have done the fuses?

That would make perfect sense and I agree with you. Everything checks out but he gauges. Maybe my buddy replaced a fused and never told me. At any rate I'm calling Faria in the morning, maybe they can refurbish them. Thanks again for all your help. It's greatly appreciated. I'll post again to let everyone know the final results.

Something simple to try, but take a look at all the weatherpak connections. When I got my ski I had one that was plugged into the wrong place, but it caused all the gauges to not work.
