this my first day on this forum ,first posting, and first boat.

2010 january, i bought a 2003 seadoo Islandia with optimax250 jet drive. it has 63 hours and winterised properly by previous owner and dealer. i put it in water several times, and added another 15 hours. every time it starts with first crank and runs great.

It reaches maximum speed in stright line and goes like a dragster. but, when i try to make any tight turn at high speed, it quits like some body turned of the key.when it quits, it will not give any warning alarms, every thing goes silent, including sc1000 system monitor display goes blank.

then i will bring it to neautral and off the key. if i try to start it immiediatly, it may start and go or nothing happens by turning the key even smartcraft display stays blank. at same time other battery powered lights, horn ,stereo every thing is getting power and working normal.

then i have to turn of the battery disconnect switch for few minutes and connect again. it may choose to come back or repeat the battery disconnect few times.

some times, instead of comming back on, it will start a continious alarm immediatley after battery disconnect is on, even though the key is off. it won't stop untill i disconnect the battery again.

if it starts , it will start in split second and goes normal acts like nothing happend.

I installed the smrtcraft monitor, i used up all the stale gas, and using shell premium now. refilled the engine oil with optimax dfi oil, water pressure, battery voltage everthing looks great.runs great in sright line and wide turns.

sharp turns at full throttle starts this problem. very frustating and unpredictable, please somebody help me.

You have an electrical short somewhere.

I would start at the battery, and check the gounds... and check the battery for an internal short. Then just start wiggling wires until you find the problem.

Unfortunately, and intermittent electrical problem is never easy to find.

found the awnser on highspeed turn quitting

as per Mr:Honda and other Islandia buddies on this forum, i checked the electrical connections.

slight engine lean on high speed turns crushing the main grounding harness with the fiber glass cover, which covers the starbord side exaust muffler.

this grounding harness located next to the ECM, and leads to crank postion sensor starts from here.

any way Islandia friends, do i really have to keep those fiber glass pices covering the starboard side exaust muffler and the battery inside the engine compartment?

if i get rid of them, i will shed another 40 pounds. advise me
