Idle Air Control - reset?

I own a 2004 GTX 4-Tec. I recently removed the IAC solenoid to clean it and inside the throttle body.

Does the IAC need to be reset with the CANDOO type software or can I just run it as-is?

Also, while I was cleaning it the plunger moved inward towards the solenoid. Is this o.k. or was the stepper motor damaged? I know throttle-by-wire stepper motors can be damaged when the butterfly is forced open by hand. Will the plunger move back out to the correct position when the motor is cranked?

One caveat to the above statement. NEVER remove the IAC and power up the ski with the IAC attached to the harness. The ECU will attempt to reset the IAC, and run it right off the end of its travel, ruining it.

Its not true because i alredy did it,it us also said in the manual that once you replce the iac you will reset throttle with the the BUDS but its not its just only there protocol....not all stated in the manual is true they only say it so that you will not do it.....

In case anyone has a similar situation, I disconnected the harness from the IAC unit first before removing it. I did not have it reset before returning to the water and it seems to be working fine after a few outings.
