Hey htanks for the Comments guys, IM wondering if the Hydro Turf is worth buying in the states then having to ship it over or just but it here in Australia. Is it possible to have to buy it in Strips or does it come pre cut? I do have some very dark blue Marine Carpet that i have looked at doing the same thing with but am unsure of how that would look with the White and the Purple. Thoughts appreciated.

I am doing the battey Mod at the moment. For all those in Australia the Battery Size is 58 VT ( Holden Commodore Fitment) or if you want something that is a little more durable and heat resistant you can also try the 68 VT both are car batteries. If going for a pure marine battery that will give you a Decent Sizing Comparison.

Im know on the look out for a UHF radio and Stereo Deck for the Boat also looking where to mount them.

Am thinking in the Steering wheel well area towards the jump seat for the CD Deck with a remote back to the drivers area

The UHF im having more trouble with. Not sure where to put it. Im thinking it needs to be near the steering wheel and easily accessible. Ideas?

I like the updates so far

with the hydro-turf at least if you get it from them directly you can order either a pre-molded kit or individual sheets; not sure how a reseller handles it but if you order directly you have both options

THanks SSMEDT, am going to roughly cut out the marine carpet and see how that looks first. i mean i ahve it sitting there so why not.

have finally received all of the Fuse gang block , Gold Fuses and switches and now the two new push buttons for the engine start up. Let the Fun Begin.

Perspex for the new switch locations has arrived but it is clear in colour not the white that i ordered. ( White) It should be okay though will have to maybe paint that as well once all the cutting a drilling for the switches is done.

The Fuse block will hold fuses for the UHF and CD Deck, The lighting - nav, Headlight and Anchor, as well as the Bilge and the Blower. Pretty much an accessories fuse panel.

Here are a few pics of what has come in today and of what may take a while to get right.

Hydro turf?...

I love my hydro turf. It's great on the feet, no slip off the swim platform. I have the 1997 Challenger.

Mike, with Hydro Turf has offered us a 15% discount if we purchase the pre-cut material with the "Hydro Turf" logo. For a boat, that's a pretty good savings.

Here's a link to the thread in the forum on how many have done it, including me, with pictures and all the info you need if you'd like to pursue the hydro turf for your boat.

If you do not choose the discounted material, you can buy certain colors and cuts by the sheet, cut it yourself and use 3M #99 spray on adhesive and do it yourself. In the link above, you'll see my Challenger, I cut it myself.

Wondering how much commission Seadoosnipe earns from Hydro Turf,

I am considering but not a priority at th emoment ,. Will try my marine carpet look first and see how it goes.

I wish!....

..........nope, I wish.

I do just what everyone else does, ....look for easy fixes, that I can do myself without being held at the mercy of the thieves in the repair shops.

This is my hobbie, I like doing it. And commission, I do get visa gift cards. Though I do this as a hobbie and have never solicited that I would do something for someone at a cost, I have had many, many members over the last few years send me Walmart cards, Dinner cards, Lowe's cards and my favorite, .......the Visa card that is loaded up with some money and I can spend it on something for my boat.............

So no, .............like you, I just have a blast at doing what it is I do.

hi everyone thought i would give you a quick update on the progress of project speedster. The Radio is now in. For any one thinking abuot putting a single deck in 1 1995 speedster the best place to do it is on the steering well compartment facing the centre of the boat - Will post a pic.

have also cut out the perspex for the new switch locations as well as run all the wiring - its now just a case of getting it all together.

New fuse point is in as well as the 9 volt point where the previous key was located.

Will be moving the kill switch / master overide switch to up under the left hand mirror.

Then its all complete for mechanical stuff.

Hydro turf?

No,....don't know if they ship to Australia but if you like, I can give them a call locally to find out.

I would think, being surrounded by water, this type material should be available there somewhere, probably under a different name. It's a foam about 3/8" thick and pretty durable.

And you know, as much as I talk about this stuff, cause I've used it in all my boats to keep my children (7 and 8) from slipping in the boat, I think I will ask them for a commision............I have plugged their stuff for a while now, FREE!...........no fair!

My stereo and speakers in Sea-Doo Challenger

Have any questions, or comments please advise.
