Morning people. I recently purchased a SBT short block for my '91 XP. Can anyone please give me a definitive answer to what type/grade injection oil I should be using for this ski. I have read various threads on the subject but I guess I just need to have someone spoon feed me the answer. Thanks for any info, Tom

The correct answer is to go to the dealer and pay them for the good stuff. Of coarse there are other acceptable ways to go. I have not heard of anybody having trouble with the PWC oil that Quicksilver is making. The good part is that it meets the requirements, is less expensive, and is always there waiting at Wally World.

Thanks Matt, you have helped me in the past, but in both instances ( Wally World or $$Dealer$$ ) is that a synthetic or non synthetic oil.

my local Advanced Auto and Walmart now sell Pennzoil synthetic marine two stroke oil, me and my two cousins run it in our 94-96 XP with no problems after six years of owning them

SBT has break-in oil.... Use that and follow their break-in procedure then switch to what the shop manual says for your year.

I use Quicksilver API-TC, synthetic blend PWC oil in non-rave valve SeaDoo's, from Walmart.

I've used the seadoo oil for many years. Also have used Amsoil Interceptor low ash/low smoke oil in my rotax sleds. In fact, I prefer the amsoil as it smokes less, engine runs cooler, and oil is 14$ cheaper a gallon.

I've read this oil is also acceptable for rave engines as well isn't it too, Loudoo? It's low ash, not TC-W3 or 4?

Quicksilver API-TC is what I use in my 587. Anything API-TC should work, but as aforementioned, Quicksilver is going to be the cheapest and most available option.

Thanks for the info... I went with the mineral spirits.... J.K. The mineral oil.. Up here in Northern Illinois, our go-to dealer( $$$$) is Nielsen Enterprises and thats what they recommended for the older skis... always good to get the feedback from you folks! Thanks again.

Do not use this oil...it's made for marine outboard motors NOT PWCs.

***EDIT*****
I typed this before I saw Lou's post. I use Amsoil Interceptor because I have rave valves in my 787. Quicksilver will be good for your ski, Tom
