I have a 2000 XP and need to a way to stabilize it more. it is extremely hard to reboard in deep or rough water. Any suggestions would be good and welcome. you can message me here or private through the forum. Thanks!

it is an xp. they are like that. i rode an early yamaha where i had to start the motor and let it drag me to get back on. it is a learning process. you'll get better at it. but it'll never be your 3-seater.

Sport model?......

Andrew, the XP is a sport model. It's made for agility and speed. It's not a "2 person" craft, though it will carry them. It's designed to be nimble and quick from the hole. The hull is light weight.

I'm going to take a wild guess here and say your probably over 175 pounds. I've seen larger riders, grab the ski from the side, go full throttle with a steep turn to the right. When the ski takes off, in the looping circle, they mount it like a horse, then there off...........

The XP is rated at a total riding weight of 350 lbs. But, that's equally displaced. Two riders at 150 a piece and not both trying to get on at the same time..............

my mounting the old yamaha was a clumsy imitation of that. i started out real slow and dragged along next to ski till i could get a foot on it.

It just take a certain type of thinking to get on these sport boats. Sideboarding or powerboarding from the site is an important skill if climbing on the back is just too frustrating.

Like Snipe said, it will look a lot like running beside a horse, grabbing the reins, and throwing a leg over the seat to get on from the side.

Practice deep water boarding a Yamaha Waveblaster or a Seadoo HX.

After that, getting on the XP will feel like pulling on a pair shorts in comparison.

You'll get used to it after a while. I weigh 190# and getting on from the back is not that hard. Grab the grab bar and throw your knees up on the back of the floor, then quickly stand up and sit on the seat.

Okay, Thank you. That is what i figured. I am fairly new to the XP, and had been told by someone that by adding sponsons that it would help, but i dont think it will. Thanks

Andrew
