Hi ladies and gentleman I just bought insurance from farmers insurance, just in case my boat gets stolen, crashed, blown up, it also comes with trailer insurance, tow insurance, in and out of the water...

Im planning a big trip to Laughlin, taking my parents and I want to be safe than sorry, what do you guys think this should cost?

Wow, so I got a great deal, I got it for $125 a year, but adding the Trailer Tow, and Boat Tow (in and out of the water) was an extra $20 dollars.. so total would be $145.. its unbelievable unless I heard wrong, and its only for 6 months....

I paid $100/yr with progressive for my boat. (but the season is short in PA)

Damn, doc... I'm doing 250 for my boat, and another 200+ for a ski.

I also have progressive, but its through my Erie agent. I dont know if that makes a difference

The biggest factors on these boats also is the difference between actual value and agreed value. Actual value will be the usually less NADA.Mine would only be like $6000. I have it insured for the agreed value of $9000. Make sure you check to see what you have. The yearly premium on actual value was 100 bucks cheaper at $180.

Your right, the insurance is for one year, Farmers Insurance. Boat value at $6,000, minus $1,000 deductible, $250 deductible for trailer, valued at $1,000.00, towing up to $500 dollars in or out of the water (just in case I get a flat on my trailer, or stranded in the middle of the lake with no one helping me), plus if they steal my trailer, or damage it, or crash it. I also have $10,000 medical insurance, $5,000 liability insurance. Remember here in California its Sue Capital of the World - so you have to watch out.

All of the above for $145 dollars a year... not bad i think, I could go up to $7,000 on my boat and it would be $158, or $8,000 for $175... but I think $6,000 is fine. It also covers the engine? wow.. I have to read the fine print to see exactly what that covers, I think that's unbelievable.. so let me read the fine print...

I got mine for $344/yr with a $500 deductible. Cover the boat from the water to my driveway and everything in between. But of course my boat does have 2 engines. 1997 Challenger 1800.

Your friendly insurance agent here :) to remind everybody to buy more liability insurance than you think you will ever need.... We are unfortunately in a very litigious society & that is the real risk of loss that you are insuring yourself against. If you get involved in an injury lawsuit, the last thing you will be worried about was the value of your $5,000- $20,000 boat. I always recommend that people buy an umbrella liability policy that provides excess liability coverage across auto, home, boat, etc. Very inexpensive for what it offers (typically $200-$400 per year for $1Million of liability)... Just my two cents...

2 million is pretty heavy! you should be covered for just about anything, just don't drive around with dynamite in the vessel hahah
