So I got a citation the first 15 mins of the lake opening for making a circle in my sea doo while trying to pick up something I drop in the water. Officer prick told me I was blocking the flow of traffic but I was literally the first one the water. Anyone have an idea how much these tickets run?

Wow! What bad luck! No clue how much it will cost.. Sorry officer a$$munch was there.

sounds like he was out to get you one way or the other. If you hadn't picked up what you dropped he would have given you a littering violation. That would be my defense.

Just outta curiousity what are the cops using as a watercraft?? BTW sorry bout your luck ... I'm pretty sure if you took it to court any judge would favour your reasoning for going in circles.

Wow! I hate to hear what happened. Good luck if you decide to try to take it to court. My experience there has been that the cop and the judge are buddies, and you're screwed regardless of what happened.

I went to court once to fight a reckless driving ticket I got on my motorcycle, where I was stopped at a red light and made a quick move across lanes to avoid being rear-ended (I moved out of the way, and the car ran the red light). Cop sitting in a parking ran out and issued me a ticket, while letting the car go. In court the cop lied to the judge 3 times. I had witnesses, and when they "corrected" what the cop said, he just told the judge "that's right, I made a mistake, it happened like they said". End of the day, I proved I acted to avoid an accident which would have left me injured, but the judge sided with the cop and found me guilty anyway. I found out later that the judge and that cop were actually drinking buddies and could be found hanging out drinking together on most Saturday nights.

Sorry to hear about it. I had a cop stop me for going too fast under a bridge in navesink river nj. Cop was awesome and gave me a warning and complimented me that my ski was really clean. Sorry you didnt have same luck.

i got into a confrontation with the boat cop on our lake last year, threw a few f-bombs at him which he took offense to then he tried to prove he was the alpha male on the water and when I didn't back down he threatened me with a ticket. I pretty much dared him to give it to me knowing I would prevail in court. He finally backed down when he realized I was right. Give some of these fish cops a badge and they think they are Rambo.

Hey Bigjake, Why did the watercop stop you for in the first place?

I actually sent my wife to get them cause I found a log sticking up from the bottom of the lake about 6" above the water and it was in the direct path of the tubers. I was afraid some little kid was going to get killed. Logs are extremely rare in our lake so people are not on the lookout for them. First one I've seen in 5 years here. I was stopping all the boats going by and warning them. Then after 30 minutes I went to my dock to get a buoy to tie to the log. halfway up the nowake zone I decided it was crazy to be going 5 mph when some kid could get killed before i got back there. so I took off WOT up the no wake to get back. By this time the log had dislodged and I tied it to the back of my ski and was trying to tow it to the marina. not an easy task in choppy water with a 20 ft 8" log. After 15 minutes of towning the fish cops finally show up and I started yelling at them for taking so f'in long (they were 5 minutes away the whole time scanning the shoreline for fisherman w/out licenses). he threatened to give me a ticket for speeding thru the no wake zone when I was trying to get back to the log and secure the area until they decided to get off their asses and come help out.

You hell raising whipper snapper sea doo riders are all the same! A bunch of touble makers!!!! ROFLMAO!!!

love how the fish cops will bitch for damn near anything; but if you need them or are broke down they don't give a $hit...

EXACTLY, his defense was they are not responsible for logs in the water. To which I replied No but if a child got killed on the lake from hitting that log then that would be your responsibility wouldn't it.

Am I missing something here? Was this a Citation or a Ticket that you received?

Unless I am must mincing words, you may have been written up, but not ticketed. (written warning)

Around here you can get a citation for a broken tailight, or speeding etc. But unless it is a summons with a court date and a fine written on a ticket with the option to mail in payment, I doubt you have any fine. How would you know who to pay, where to pay, or how much if it was not written on the ticket?

Sounds like you got a written warning. Fill us in with what is actually on it.

It's a fine, officer prick told me it would not be over 300 but I think he was just saying that. I read online its a little over that, I am considering fighting the ticket but have my doubts. I did not see any signs or anything that said I couldn't move in that direction, but eh...

Are you telling me you got a $300.00+ fine for turning around in a lake?????

Citation.... ticket... I got a PERFORMANCE AWARD in my car the other day.... (93 in a 75) STOP class is on the 14th. Do they have anything like that for water "violations"? (not saying you did anything wrong mind you...)

Why do I get the feeling that "turning around" was a gentle way of saying it's easier to pick my hat up off the water when the boat is high-sided and creating a huge wake in a loading zone? HA

You know what guys ... even if hes was wide open high sided ... in a loading zone... no life vest ... safety lanyard not attached to his jacket that he wasn't wearing. $300 bucks is insane!! Maybe I'm just not used to well populated lakes ... the only time Ive been hasseld by the OPP (Ontario Provincial Police) is on lake ontario. Making sure we had a sober driver ... other than that it just if I'm fishing I we get stopped now again on the bigger lakes for limit and license checks.

The tickets in the mail I'll post more info when its here grrrr . That money could of went towards a gallon of gas... :"/
