Ok so I gave up trying to get my GTX started and took it to a "professional" I dropped it off last week and he told me it would take him 2 days at the most. I tried to call the whole week and check on the status but the call went straight to voice mail. So at this point I am getting upset and worried about this guy I never dealt with. I left 3 voice mails ranging from calm and concerned to angry. I finally get a response sunday and he answered. I asked him as to why he never returned my calls and what the status was. he then tells me that he just got back from the hospital because attempting to start my ski the carb flash-backed and burnt his face giving him a second degree burn on his face and his arms. Now I am debating whether I should fire him or buy him flowers and a get-well card. Has this happened to anyone else or just me? F my life!!

not your fault. sounds like he poured gas into the carb when he was trying to start it. pouring gas in a carb and looking at it while trying to start it is just askin for trouble. Sucks he got hurt but it his own faul so dont be to hard on your self.

I HATE offering to work on someone else's stuff and getting stitches, burned, or losing a limb from it. And most of the work I do is for FREE...:ack:

Ouch...definitely his own fault but I feel for the guy. Who looks into the carbs when trying to start? Hope your "pro" recovers quickly and that you are able to get back on the water soon.

I think I'm just going to get it and give him a few bucks before he burns the ski down.

Called him today and told him I am picking it up tomorrow. He sounded disappointed but I am more disappointed than he is at this point.
