Hull fills with water

Morning guys! Just had a quick question.

My 95 xp fills with water at low speeds. By the time I'm out of the no wake zone my bilge pump has to run for at least 5 seconds to clear this out.

When I start moving fast the bailers do their job and keep it cleared out.

I've done a lot of looking around the forums to figure the problem out but wanted your opinions before I start buying parts and tearing down the jet pump.

I'm thinking it's got to be those little white tubes in the pump that lead to the bailers. But not 100%.

Do my symptoms sound like this is the right diganoses?

The best way t find the leak is to fill the hull with water up to the driveshaft seal on the trailer and look for leaks.

Next run the ski on the hose and look for leaks.

Finally run it in the water with the seat off and look for leaks.

If it was the bailer it would get much worse when running the ski and not be clearing the water out.

lol well, that answered my question almost immediately. The gasket for my drain plug has dry rotted on me. I just replaced it 2 years ago.. surprised it went bad so quickly

may be a silly question, but would it be a good idea to use some silicone on this thing to avoid this issue down the road?

I would, those rubber gaskets seem to rot much quicker than the original ones.

alright well that was an easy fix. turns out the gasket was actually fine though i did use some silicone as well.

this was the culprit20210408_154603.jpg

That's why both my skis have auxiliary bilge pumps in them.

I do keep a close eye in those though. Mine was destroyed when I bought the ski which lead to needing a new mpem

Lol no blood on that job. Did catch a fiber glass cut on my palm from one of the sharp edges on the jet pump tunnel though
