How to release fuel pressure?

I have a 2001 rx di that may need the fuel pump replaced. I need to releave the fuel pressure in order to reamove the fuel pump. The manual says to use the vehicle communications kit wich i do not own. Can i just slowly unscrew one of the fuel lines at the fuel rail? thanks for your help

Yes you can. Very carefully remove the line at the rail- have a rag around it to catch what comes out.
