Was doing research on how I could make the ski faster since I might pull a tube and also for myself when I want to hall the mail but could not find anything besides the propeller for 250.
What have you guys done to improve the power?

thanks:thumbsup:

the gsi came with the reliable 717 which made 85hp. there are pipes available from a company called factory pipe that gives it about 20 more hp, but that puts more stress on the engine, requires a higher rev limiter, and reduces the overall reliability of the 717.

check your local laws about pulling a tube before you do, most states require you to have a 3 seat rated ski, mirrors and a spotter. you also cannot have more people on the ski + tube than the ski is rated for, so no pulling two people on the tube.

thanks for the info guys, might go with the newer supercharged version soon. 20 hp from just a pipe?? that's a good amount of power. Even if its a private lake??

just going off of what the rules are in TX, private lakes can make their own rules, but I'm not sure about GA. The private lake I lived on outlawed pulling tubes or skiiers behind PWC so i've never done it.

Just did some research and it says it needs to be able to pull 3 people and someone to look at the tuber etc. BS!!!

About the pipe , the rejet and the new porp with a new ring it should be a 100+ ski(if motor is healthy).

do like i doo, when you get to where you are going, take the cooler of beer out of ski and it will run alot faster

Or of you really want to go fast, put it on the trailer and go for a boot on the highway.

I had the same ski and sold it to get a gsx with 110 hp. That is the best way to go imo. May sell this one to get a gsx limited with 130 hp. But will keep it for a while, don't want to piss my wife off by getting another ski.

haha, thinking about using the compartment under the hood and make it a cooler for couple drinks.

Or do what I did and buy a 787 lol.
engine or did a motor swap.

I just picked this one up for some fun, I get tired of all my toys very quick so don't want to go spend couple Gs on something that I will sell in a year or less but I kinda like the gsi just want to have 100+ skipower lmao.

does that make a big difference? asking because I ordered the brp oil, new wear ring with the steel lip, new lines, plugs etc.

No kidding, the money that you'll spend getting a few more MPH is going to be more than just selling the ski you have and getting a 97GSX, basically the same hull with 25 more HP.

If you want to pull a tube, most states require a 3 seater, so look for a 97-98GTX.

I bet you get some speed back, better hole shot. Try a dremel rotary with a large stone, shouldn't take long. Perfect opportunity for correcting minor issues.
