So my 93 XP grab handle and the handlebar cover are some kind of softer and somewhat sticky plasticy-rubber material. They get real dirty real easy, and I do not know what to clean them with to keep them from being so sticky. Any ideas? Tried a bunch of things and am thinking someone may have found a really clever method or an awesome cleaning solution.
Thanks,

Unfortunatly... the cover is done.

SeaDoo used a plastic that wasn't perfectly UV stable, and when it starts to decay, it gets sticky. It's just a mater of time before it gives up totally.

I cleaned mine up with WD-40. If they are already sticky they are already shot, I probably wouldn't do this to a newer piece.

The WD-40 **eats** this stuff up, I had lots of (red) colored residue on the towel when I was done, but it also eats whatever dirt is stuck to it too. When I was done, I gave it a really good once over with soap and water to remove the oil and then covered it in as much Armor All as it would take.

It worked on the rear grab bar and on the handlebar cover thing. Before I did this, they looked like they had been kicked around in a junkyard for years covered in grease and who knows what, now they are at least one color even if they are a little sticky.

When to replace xp handle bar cover?

I have the same problem with the handle bar cover and hand grips, its not sticky its gummy then transfers to anything and everything it touches

What are people do to replace them?
Will stand handle bar grips work?

Me too. Gummy! My grips are OK. Try other cleaners which don't melt the stuff such as Dutch Boy or Comet. My handlebar cover got torn when I replaced the buzzer. Used GOOP glue to repair the crack, worked pretty well. Can't find any better covers to replace so live with it or try recovering with vinyl... search other posts.
