How do you drain old gas from 97 seadoo xp

gas has been sitting in my seadoo for over 2 years and I want to syphon it out. I tried putting a tube down into the gas tank but it hits something thats keeping it from going into the tank. Whats the best way to get it out? There's not that much old gas in it. Would it be ok to just mix it with newer gas? I did start it and it ran but it smoked like crazy, could that be from the old gas or do I have another problem as well .

The gas won't smoke as such. It might be that some oil seeped into the cylinders from the rotary valve shaft chamber. You could remove the fuel tank by removing the steering mechanism above the fuel tank. I wouldn't recommend using any of the old gas.

If you really want to get in there, you could remove the fuel baffle and get a clear shot. Would be a great time to inspect the fuel float, replace grey fuel hoses and make sure the selector valve is clear.

Consider a carb rebuild too - or at least clean out the internal filters in the carbs.
