I am picking up a 2003 Sportster LE. It's a long-distance transaction and an even longer story. I want to know what I am getting into regarding a rebuild and future maintenance so I need to know if I have a DI or not. I have pics, but the carb airbox is not obviously visible. Have a look. Can you tell? The pics are low res, I know. Maybe somebody would let me text them to you? I think some 03's were DI and then all later years, but I could be wrong. Any ideas?

The pictures are so tiny it's really hard to tell. A 2003 Sportster LE came with carbs., so unless the motor and electrics have been changed it's pretty safe to say it's a carburated model.

Should be a carbed engine. On a DI you will see a big black bar (fuel rail) that says DIRECT FUEL INJECTION in huge letters on it. The head is also different looking on the DI's
