Well.... when you get curious about the relay and why it won't work it's only natural for mechanical minds to..... Pretty simple really. LOL

When I wiggled or put pressure on the holding coil the resistance changed drastically. The replacement I ordered off Ebay did the same thing. The resistance on the coil is suppose to be 100 Ohms or so. My readings varied a great deal.. from 8M OHms to open. But the coil still worked. I checked the readings on two different meters one was a Simpson 260. So... If anyone is curious. Now you know.

That's funny. I also dissected mine after I got the new one. Did you try the new one yet and still have the problem? BTW, I answered your PM too.

Thanks, I got the PM. The new one didn't work... the relay would not close when I applied power and the readings also changed. Funny thing as I mentioned previously in another post, if you put pressure on the relay box you can influence the resistance readings. Such was the case on mine and the one I purchased.

If you connect +12vDC power to the purple wire and - to the black wire, the relay should close which would be a click and the resistance across the two red wires should be very close to zero. If neither relay does that, then they are both bad

My relay worked but the resistance is all over the place.

I got a replacement relay from the vendor (used also) and it did not work either. These relays are very strange. The Ohm readings are all over the place with them and when I apply power they do not close the switch. I believe these relays just get stuck from sitting and won't work. From my perspective they are garbage.
