High Tach out of the hole

Hello all first let me say hi seeing as i'm new here ...:cheers:



I have a 98 seadoo gsx i noticed it tach's up high as i accellerate out of the hole runs fine other than that when i have 2 people on its seems worst any ideas on what it could be or were i should start looking first..

Wear ring is a likely culprit. On an older boat like this (and a meaty one like the GSX), high revs most likely mean that the clearance between the jet pump wall and the impeller is wider than it should be.

Here are the specs on the impeller wear ring; Wear Ring clearance for your seadoo 1.0 mm or (.040in) Measure the clearance at the center of the impeller blades, with a 12” long gauge. Measure the clearance from the venturi side of the jet pump.
