Help with where this goes

1997 gti there are two lines coming out the side of the hull one goes to the gas tank for vent the other one just routes to the back of the jet ski and goes nowhere its just sitting there is it supposed to be going somewhere?

Battery vent tube. Do you have a Gel Cell battery? If so, that's why irbid laying there. No vent on a Gel battery.
