Help with jet pump removal (1994 GTX)

I have been following the sticky for wear ring replacement on my 1994 GTX; however I am having difficulty removing it from the hull. So far I have removed the four retaining nuts, and used a home made puller to evenly pull it away from the hull. I was able to break the seal, but only get about a 1/4" before meeting strong resistance on the top side of the pump. Could the water line noozles coming through the hull be holding me on?

They look really tight in the fiberglass, and I dont want to break them if I force it too hard. Any suggestions?
