1997 seadoo gti 720cc wont start it would bog down and stop on water but would not stall waited a second and took off again for another mile or so and same thing.then i came into dock and then it quit.no power at all??checked fuses and the 15amp was blown its labled battery on computer.its the fuse on computer.tried another one and blew instantly and so on started looking around everything looks o.k.i started norrowing it down un pluging connections.when i unplug the plugin that goes to the stator it wont blow fuses and when i plug it back in it pops instantly.anybody have any ideas????

I just went thru major wiring issues on my 98 gti. My 5 amp was blowing for the computer. Anyway long story short, download the manual. Its free just google it and print out several pages from the electrical systems section on how to test the various components. The stator etc etc etc. Most test are ohms test. Easy to do. My fuse blew only when I plugged stator in as well. Turned out to be mice ate guage wires up under hood. I learned from another very useful member "mekanix" that the stator doesn't supply computer with power so it cant blow fuse if your ski isn't running. Either way, start testing things via manual and post what test you've done and results etc. Also if you google "mpem" you fill find a way to test your computer with 12 volt supply to help rule out computer being bad. I will watch for your results

Charge the battery up well. Start the ski with the stator disconnected on the motor. It should run fine, but it will not charge the battery. At times, metal from the starter gear will sheer off, and short the stator, and blow the fuse.

Charging battery, downloading manual..etc won't help the problem. You have debris that's grounding out the stator causing v the fuse to pop. Gotta remove mag housing, remove flywheel and clean stator and pickup sensor, for it T run again

If you do pull stator make sure you follow to procedure in manual. Mark location of plate with a cold chisel mark. Test it with a VOM. May be able to buy used ones to save you money. They do not fail often.

changed stator and also found magnet let go also on flywheel got that all fixed starts right up and now knocking in badly in bottom end.so i guess its screwed for summer!!
