Put in a new battery and charged it, hit the start button, and it trys but it's like it's locked up. pulled the plugs, put wd-40 in and removed the gray sheild and watched the shaft by the shield, and each time I hit the start button the shaft moves 1/4 of a inch or so. Tried to move the shaft with a pry bar, but its tight and now it's turning over like a top but will not start. put my hand over the cylinders and got good compression, what should I do. I acquired this ski-doo. and the previous owner never winterized it from when it was brought new in 1999. he did put a new motor in 80 hours ago . Last year he used it one time and it worked until we tried it the other day. after I put new wheel bearings and rewired the trailer put a spare tire on and a new battery. help ? am I screwed thanks, Pat

Hi just started it , put in each of the cylineder's 1 tea spoon of gas and oil mix and it started right up. 1 how does the 2 stroke oil come out of the tank to mix, is there a line at the botton of the oil reservoir ? It hard to see and I like to know because there is some slight oil in the hull is this normal . And because it looks like there is a valve on the top of the oil reservoir thats missing a oil hose is this normal ? And buy the way I have gray fuel hoses and know what I have to do on that one thats to you guys, Thanks please help Pat

If that were mine, I'd mix some RICH pre mix, and diesel and pour it in the cylinders. About 2 ounces in each one.

And let is sit overnight.

Then, I'd try rotating the flywheel, by hand, back and forth, slowly, to see if I could get the pistons loose. I'd finally turn it over with the starter, with extra oil down the spark plug holes. With no plugs in it.

No Maybe I'd pull the head first. You run the risk of cracking the rings by forcing it past the grooves in cylinders.

We are assuming it is a locked up motor.

Why don't you pull the head, and check this puppy out?

I may lead you astray, if it is a simple starter problem.

Listen to somebody smarter than me!

Th oil comes out of the bottom of the tank through a line that goes into the oil pump. From the oil there are two little clear lines that run up to your carbs. The pump will squirt the oil into carbs will mixing with the gas as the throttle is used. More throttle, more oil. The little valve on top of the reservoir is a pressure release valve and should not have anything attached to it, maybe a small little piece of hose, but not connected to any thing. Oil in the bottom of the hull could be a hole in the tank, busted line, or you spilled some when filling it up.

Go ahead a change your fuel lines, clean selector valve and clean the little filters inside the carbs and I bet she fires up.

You should do a compression test with a gauge and not your hand, you could haver one cylinder totally different than the other.

Do I need to removed the carbs to clean the little screens in the carbs ? And my ski started up, I was told to run 2 stroke oil 1/2 qt for 15 gals for the first tank full and then change the plugs afterwards beter safe then sorry and plugs are cheeper then a new motor. And I was also told to increase the oil injector pump 1/16 inch past the alignment marks richer , because it best to run a 2 stroke engine that way you have less wear and tear on the motor. What do you think. pat

Yes, you gotta take the carbs out and apart to get to the filters.

Also, try to start it on reserve, if it starts up then all you need to do is clean the selector.

If your oil pump is working then there is no need to premix unless your breaking the engine in or testing to see if pump is working. Half quart per 15 gallons is almost nothing, its close to 115:1, that would not help you.

If you just wanna test the pump then mix 50:1 and watch and see if if oil level drops in the tank after riding for a day or two. If your gonna premix for peace of mind, you gotta remove the oil pump shaft ot get a block off kit and run oil/gas mix at 40:1. The alignment mark was put there by seadoo for the perfect oil/gas mix depending on throttle, I wouldn't recommend moving it at all.
