Got to the lake yesterday for the holiday weekend. Tent was all set up. The whole family was there. Put the boat in the water and the right engine has very very little thrust. Left engine is working great. The right engine will rap the rpm's really quick but with no thrust. I pulled it back out of the water. I crawled under it and looked around at the shafts and the props. I noticed that the plastic cover around the shaft that I'm getting no thrust out of is broken. I also noticed that looking in from the very back of the pump you can see light.

I have done a lot of reading on my boat and have learned a lot. This is my first boat. I hope it wasn't a bad choice.

Not knowing the specifics of your particular boat... The 1800 is very popular. The engines are readily available if you need to get them fixed. You will have a ton of fun. I wouldn't worry too much about the wear ring. They are consumables and need replacing over time. Get it/them replaced and you boats performance will be restored.
