I Have A 96 Xp That Will Run Great For A Few Minutes And Then It Will Bog I Can Hold It Wot And Still Only Move Just Above Idle Speed The I Will Shut It Off To Try To Figure It Out And Let It Cool Off For 5 To 10 Minutes While Working On It And It Runs Good For A Few Minutes And Starts Bogging Again I Have Already Disconected The Red Wire From The Rectifire Changed The Plugs What Else Could It Be The Fuel Lines Or Fuel Valve Its Just Weird That When It Cools Off For A Few Minutes It Fine Until It Warms Up Again That Why I Havent Changed The Fuel Lines And Valve Yet . And Its Not Running Hot When Its Running Good Or Bad . The Carbs Are Clean Just Rebuilt About 3 Months Ago It Ran Fine After Rebuilding Them Any Help Will Be Appreciated Want To Ride On The Weekend
Thanks Les

What the plugs look like? Probably a fuel system problem. Take a few hours to go througgh it, replace whats needed,..also check compression, BTW, why is rectifier disconnected, you'll end up running the battery down...

i guess i will start with the gray fuel lines and the valve it wort hurt to change those things anyways .I JUST THINK ITS WEIRD BECAUSE IT DOES IT AFTER IT WARMS UP AND NOT COLD
THANKS AGAIN

You won't want to hear this, but it sounds like you are running lean and grabbing a ring. This can be from inadequate oil or fuel delivery. (on mine it was the oil pump). The overheat alarm won't go off because the jacketed cylinder never gets hot enough due to the watercooling.

Check your plug color, and more importantly check your compression.

You will more than likely find a drop in compression in one of the cylinders, which ever one has been hanging up. If you run it enough times like this, you will destroy the engine.

I hope I am wrong, but I learned the hard way...

The Ski Is Already Set Up For Pre Mix So It Cant Be Oil Now A Ring Maybe I Will Do A Comp Test When It Stops Raining

After the compression check, I would check the vent in the fuel tank. It might be plugged and cause a vacuum in the tank allowing it to get little fuel...

i did the compression check but my gauge always reads a little low it said 135 psi in each cylinder at least both were the same it seems like it only fireing on 1 cylinder because 1 plug was wet and the other was burning nice but the battery died as i was doing a repeat compression test so i will check all the connections at the rear electrical box tomorrow or maybe change the coil
thanks again guyz
