Help. 2018 Seadoo GTX 230 jumps out of sport mode into Eco mode.

Hello there. This is my first post on the seadoo forums so please let me know if I did anything incorrectly. I have a 2018 seadoo gtx 230 and for some reason my jet ski jumps out of sport mode into eco mode with a speed limit of 35 on it randomly. When im going fast and hitting bumps all of a sudden I lose all power and can barely go. There is no beeping or any warning lights. I replaced the sport/eco mode buttons, but that made no difference. Note whenever I start the jetski it always automatically starts in sportmode. I am also unable to switch riding modes using the buttons yet I can still adjust the trim with no problem. Please let me know if you know how I can fix this. Thanks!

If it’s never worked right you might have a aftermarket override module that’s bad, if it worked right and now doesn’t your x package module might be bad, although only going 35 when it doesn’t work sounds more like its going into limp mode which that command comes from the ECM. When all this happens are paying attention to your MFD, all the modes you are in are displayed on the MFD when you change them with the buttons.

I bought the jetski used. I just looked around in the engine bay and I could not find a Speed control override module. Every time I have ever started the ski its always automatically in sport mode and I cant figure out why. I am unable to change driving modes.

Somewhere near the ECU bracket and the main wiring harness, although your ski is not speed limited by GPS so it doesn’t make sense you would have one but who knows on a used 230 GTX.
