Hauling sea doo and boat?

It looks like the circus is coming to town, got a dumb question. How do you launch and retrieve the ski's? Most ramps at least where I live would be too short.

Lou

Not a dumb question and one of the things that everyone considering putting a ski transversely across the front of a boat trailer needs to ask themselves. Nothing is worse than getting the trailer tires off the paved ramp and stuck in the mud.....it's not a fun day. Trust me.....

What I've always wanted to do is build an over/under where the skis are on a platform attached to the trailer with parallel arms and a rotary actuator. It would have to be designed to allow plenty of articulation at the rear of the boat to be able to retrieve or launch the skis independent of the status of the boat. In the stow position, it would place the skis over the boat cockpit. The downsides - some sort of drain will have to be fabricated to keep the boat interior free of debris and muddy water from dripping down. Secondly, the arms and actuator may extend beyond the 8' 6" max width. I haven't had much of a chance to work on that part, yet. Third, it will be a HEAVY addition and the suspension of the trailer will need to be verified. Lastly, your overhead clearance just changed dramatically and special attention will have to be placed depending on the final stowed height. Sure would be a mess if the ski got stripped from the trailer by an overpass!

Someday....I'll have time to figure it out.

I have made this happen with my 94 GTX and ski boat. I built a shuttle that the ski rests on, it has 4 wheels and is winched up 2 car ramps.
Securing the ski with ratcheting tie straps.

I have been in a move from a harsh break-up and I have had the ski in the back of my truck for the last 2 weeks. It works well.

I do have to launch the boat, go park and disconnect the trailer, then go back to the ramp set up the car ramps and lower the ski off the truck but I can do it with minimal help and the ski launch takes 8 min.

I have a thread somewhere on here, I need to update. I just got back on-line from after my move.

Not sure if you had that on you tube? But seen something like what you describe and looks simple and easy, all great ideas and am going to have to see what will be best for me, thinking I like the cart idea, then when you take it home just unload and leave on Carr, not fussing with getting it on a stand or trailer or anything

Some places I go, that would make a lot of people angry. They don't like the ramp being tied up.

Yeah, I know it sucks a busy lakes to have a ties up ramp, but the lake I'm at there is an average of two boats launched a day( when it's nice) rest are already there. But it's also very locals type of lake and not at all busy.
