Ususally just doing their job, but sometimes can be a real Ahole. I posted my run-in with the our fish cops a couple years ago. I'm typically very courteous with the authorities, but this guy was out to prove he had the biggest lanyard on the lake and I wasn't taking his BS. He was threatening me with a ticket but he backed down.

"the man" was responsible for a change in venue with the SWFL Ski fest, which was held for 11 years in estero bay with great success, we filled up the hotel and spent a TON of money, but in 2011 (i think or 2010) they hassled the hell out of us... even went as far as having the poo poo riding a jet ski with an empty 12 pack of bud bungied to the back of his ski... between the jet ski guy and the boats hiding just inside/outside the no wake zones, i think they dished out about a bunch of tickets friday/saturday we finally figured them out sunday and many of us went home early or just skipped the bay and headed out into open water instead.

now.. some of the riders deserved tickets (backwater mangrove speed runs) but a number of people got citations for not slowing down fast enough heading into the no wake zone, (you know.. how you zip up to the sign and let off the throttle while still on plane and then slow down). and a whole bunch of us got safety checks,,, any idea how long it takes to do a safety check on 15 ski's in a row... ? totally pissed the riders off...

the venue was moved to clearwater for the last two years now. I was at the hotel in lovers key a few weeks back and the bartender recognized me and asked why we stopped coming. I said the local cops blew it for them. I think we easily spent 20K in a weekend at one hotel with all the rooms, food, bar tabs..
