I have a 1997 Challenger and I compound mine out once a season, usually in the fall. This is the best way to bring out the shine from summer oxidation. I use a good quality compound by Turtle Wax. They have a lotion type liquid you buff in but I like the paste. Use a nice circular buffer, not the orbital. The newer orbital doesn't work it in as well. The trick to buffing? When you start to burn the compound in, have a spray bottle with you that has water in it and now and then, when it seems to get sticky, spray a little water on it.

When you finish, put a nice wax on it. I use the Marine 3M wax. Good luck, do some workout to build up the arm muscles and have at a minimum, one 12 pack on ice. You'll need it. It is an all day job...........

3M Marine Restorer and Wax

I have had great results with this 3M product. It's specifically for marine gel coats. Some Turtlewax products warn against using them on non automotive finishes. 3M part #09005 Just my 2 cents.

Waxing

I will be compounding and waxing my see doo it is old and trying making it look nice. My question is the bumper molding, front cover, runners pads and other plastic/rubber parts. How do I make them look like new. Can I spray them with lacquer? What do you guys use on these parts?
