it rans fien the pump was great. jumped up on plan real nice but when i and hauling as and open it above 6000 rpm it cut out a little then i back off down to 500 and its ok, then every now and then it will kinda have 1 or 2 misses and if i got back up to 6000 it will be fine then if i go to 6500 it has the miss again, its intermittent, stop and started the boat numereous times all day, started great hot, the dess was kinda pissing me off, whats up with that thing? cant i just disconnect it and put a toggel switch in? i have not cleaned the carbs or tried adjusting them, i did empty the fuel screen right above the motor, and im getting some water in the hull, not sure where from but i know its not from the carbon ring, or exhaust seal, i ran it with the hatch up, thanks for anyones advice again,

If it's instant... that's an electrical issue.

Try trimming the spark plug wires back about 1/4". Some times, getting into fresh wire will help. Other than that... pop the electrical boxes open, and make sure all the connections are clean and tight.

As far as the DESS... no, it can't be bypassed. Your lanyard has a chip in it... and the MPEM has to see that code. If it's causing you issues... clean/replace the post and/or lanyard.
