Hi,

I have a 2010 Seadoo RXTX 260 which up until early last season ran great. Now I have a issue which I cant figure out. I semi threw the parts cannon at it, but nothing I have done has changed the main issue.

Here is the issue.

If I put the seadoo in the water and fire it up, it starts and runs great. If i keep the RPMS above 6000 then I can ride all day no issues, even if i dip below 6000 and even Idle along for a bit. The problem starts if I cruise at under 6000. So lets say i cruise at 5000rpm for 25 min. When I go to throttle up it will start to rev up and then instantly cut throttle, and then hammer it on again. It will go back and forth until it reaches 8000rpm but you can tell its still fluxuating up and down. Its not a bog, or a miss, or hesitation. Its a full on throttle off as if i let go and then pinned it again. It will do that all over the place and make riding almost imposible as you never know when it will let up and press you up on the bars.

Last year i thought i was after a leaky intercooler so i changed it, and then pressure checked the new one to rule that out. I changed the throttle body and the throttle sensor in the handle bars. After that I got a code for loss of comm with the throttle body and put the stock one back on. Now no codes. I changed the plugs, coils, went through the fuel system, even pressure tested. Everything checks out perfect. I flow tested the injectors... Perfect again.

This machine is perfect, except it isnt and I have no idea what to even look for, or go after.

Can anyone help?

Thanks in advance.

On a car... I'd say vacuum leak or air pressure/flow sensor. Does the 2010 us a map or maf? On my BMW, the test is to disco the MAF and run again. Dunno if that'll work on the seadoo but it's easy to test.
