Back again folks!

This time just a quick spark plug wire question.

This past weekend I was out on the seadoo and after going through some choppy waters, the RPMS just dropped and it started sputtering.

When I pulled off the seat, I noticed one of the spark plug boots had lifted started to lift off the plug.
I pushed it back down, but noticed it's not really "clicking" on anyomre or staying tight like the other one. After a few more minutes of riding it seems to come off again.

The spark plug boot looks like it may have been replaced before and may or may not be OEM? I wasn't sure if the spark plug boot was a screw on type, and I attempted to take it off to see if I could get a replacement. I ended up just pulling fairly hard on the boot to remove it.

I noticed the wire (it says NGK R-8 on it) and I was expecting that once I got the end off I would see a stranded wire but I did not. Rather just what looks like one little metal clip coming up from inside the wire.

Are these the stock seadoo wires or did the previous owner change these out? Can I replace just the boot or am I best to get the entire wire and end assemblies myself from a dealer? I called a place and they wanted about $110 for it so I thought I'd see what you guys recommend first.

Thanks!

Can you post a pic?

The stock are the screw on type. When you pulled it out you could have dislodged the metal piece that the wire screws Into and the other side clicks into the spark plug

Ahh, unfortunately I can't post a pic because the seadoo isn't at home with me right now. I think you're right though, the metal part may have popped off the inside of the boot.

That said, it looks like the boot replacement part number is 278001452, however my dealer said they cannot order that for me and that it has to be the entire cable?

Anyone know if the boot alone can be purchased? I read somewhere that they may have a resistor in them? Does NGK have a part number of their own for this?

Edit: Would I be looking at something like this? https://www.amazon.ca/NGK-TB05EMA-Resistor-Spark-Plug/dp/B0018JSJ8C

Additionally, I noticed that there are some ngk boots with 5k ohm resistance and some with 10k, does anyone know what the GTX-DI uses?
