Can anyone help me to repair my broken Seadoo GTX LTD??
When i push the start button it does not turn over but makes a load buzzing noise.
I have been told it is probably the rectifier or some other part. I have been told there is a way to test this by bypassing it???? and it should cost between £140 and £200 to replace. I have also been told that it is a complete unit and will cost more like £600 to fix.
I dont know who to belive and could do with some honest helpful advice.
The weather is looking up and i need it fixing ASAP
CAN ANYONE HELP????

The loud buzzing noise you hear is probably the starter solenoid. It's making this noise because it doesn't have enough voltage in order to operate. This leads us back to the battery. Battery is not fully charged.... or battery is bad....bad electrical connections or possibly a bad starter solenoid.
GOOD LUCK, DAWG

yup, i had the same prollem with mine... push the start and got *beeeeeeep!* ended up jump starting it... i kno i kno... dont jump start... found this out after i joined the forum haha, but anyway, started right up after that. :agree:

Does the starter motor spin? Is this noise coming from below the carbs? If it is, the starter may be spinning and the starter drive (or bendix) is not engaging. With a voltmeter check to see that the starter is getting power when the start button is depressed. Get back to us, thanks and good luck.

uh ohh! seen a spark under my engine when i started it and found that the starter power wire was loose on the starter. i went to tighten and found that the starter power wire stud was loose inside the starter... still works but cant make the power lead tight on starter... PERHAPS! maybe thats why mine beeped (like yours) then jus bumpin the ski around while fiddleing with it made a connection and able to start... anyway!! check the starter cable would be a good idea. :ack:

You can jump start your Doo without any problems...from any 12v vehicle. However, you only need to make sure the vehicle supplying current is not running. Current from vehicles/larger alternators can damage your Doos systems since they put out quite a bit more then the Doo can handle.
