Hi, I`m a newbie to the sport having had boats for the past ten years or so. I bought a 2002 GTX DI a few months ago which has been running fine until the last few rides.
It starts fine and has run perfectly, but the last two rides out it has started getting an intermittent loss of power and bogging down after an hour or so of riding. It idles fine and does not stall when the power loss hits, just bogs down and won`t accelerate. If you come off the throttle for a few seconds it seems to clear itself most of the time and is fine again for a few minutes but then does it again. It always seems to clear itself after 10-15 seconds max. If you turn off the engine it starts again no problem.
Looking at the engine when we have come back in it has been a bit damp (it`s used on the sea and it has been quite choppy so a bit of water getting in there is no surprise) but nothing appears to be loose or overly wet.
Where do I start looking for the cause?
