hey all, i bought a gtx the other day for pretty cheap because the guy had hit a log or somthing in the water and put some small cracks under the hull. I temporarily sealed up the cracks and took it on the water to test it out. When i got home i noticed stress fractures all on the front and im sure they wernt there before. has this hapened to anyone else ? do you think the small cracks underneat had anything to do with what happened ? so annoyed this happened ive only had it for 2 days

Are they "on the top"...or "underneath"?

Could you pan back and show where on the hull those shots are from?

Stress cracks are normal.....but that's a sht load of them. What's the ding look like where he hit the log?

My suggestion would be to take it to a fibre glass repair shop...preferably one that does boats. Have them look at it...might not be as bad as you think.

just thought id share with everone, thats what they looked like with glue on it to prevent water going on for the time being. I did alot of reasearch on repairing, after realizing what i needed it was a struggle to find the gel coat. After finaly buying all the materials i started grinding away the broken fiberglass and discovered it was broken all the way through. I started putting on the sheets and resin and reparing the hole. After sanding then came time for the gel coat, its pretty annoying stuff to work with, i applied it on with an aplicator like bog, sanded it back starting with corse paper working my way up to 2000 gritt. Came up perfect, blends in with the old stuff good as, luckliy its black so it was very easy to match.

Just wondering if anyone else has done the same, home repair jobs and how they turned out ? im really hoping it doesnt get any more stress fractures as i did put alot of time into repairing it and making it look all nice. Is there any way to prevent fractures ? not hitting waves to hard etc ? I dont abuse my ski or anything like that but they seem somewhat weak to me

If anyone is thinking about doing repairs or anything dont hesitate to ask me

ill get some finished pics soon
