GTX 1999 rfi, No power No Beeps

Hello Helpful people.

Christmas last year our project 1999 GTX RFI was working.. badly .. well everything except the electrics which were perfect.

This year we have completely rebuilt the engine and overhauled and replaced / fixed everything that needed attention. Last week the engine went back in we foolishly thought we were in the finishing straight. After connecting the battery positive to starter, negative to crankcase I plugged in the Dess key and waited patently for the sweet sound of Beeps.. unfortunately they never happened..

- When we unplugged the electric connectors to remove the engine, I bagged the ends so we didnt get any dirt in them inadvertantly.
- The Battery is good Checked with multi meter
- fuses are ok front and rear - though when I opened the fuse housing on the computer there was a oily gel like substance covering the bottom 2 fuses, I cleaned the excess and replaced the fuses with new.
- When I put the Key on there is no result, no beep, no instruments
- Starter works when shorting the solenoid


Any thoughts advice or insights?

Things I would try,
1. first have the battery load tested to verify it is good. Voltage check is only one thing that needs to be right.
2. I would also test the DESS post and verify it is good
3. Clean the key contact so you know you are getting good contact.
4. Press the start button without key on, does it do anything. It should light up display

Check the pins in the plug on the front of the mag. Verify your ground is good there.
Check your ground on the plug that goes to the coil. It is the single black wire.
I mentioned this on the other thread but check all the plugs on the MPEM. They get corroded and oxidize. Power in are the wide blades on the plugs.
Not sure if that ski has a "holder relay" but if it does check the fuse in that.
I had an issue with water inside the black box so if you don't find anything obvious, check that as well. Good Luck !

I removed all electrical connectors, used contact cleaner, replaced and she now beeps and purrs like a tiger

Question should the little tell tail spout at the back be squirting when it's on the hose pipe? maybe I was being too cautious and not switching the hosepipe on full power.
