I have a 96 gsx, it runs great but when I try to accelerate the rpm's go up but it just wont go any fater than a just above idle speed. Its almost like something is slipping, checked for weeds all is clear, Im at a loss. Anything will be helpfull

Scott, sounds like you need to inspect the wear ring. Should be no more than 1mm gap between the impellor edge and wear ring. Look inside pump aasy, and if any light around the impellor, extent of 1mm, then you need new one (wear ring)
