That is the going price price for them. It's an 18' foot boat the holds 7 people or 1150Lbs, dual 787's 2-stokes. Just look it all over top and bottom, look over the jet pumps, pressure test the engines, try all the stuff out, drive it if possible. All the usualy stuff before you buy it. Stuff you find worn out or damamged will help get a better price on it. The only thing I missedd on my Sportster 1800 is some damaged on the bottom of the haul I am fixing so look undernether the boat to make sure. Some people do bottom these things out in to shallow of water. I know why they added a depth finder to the boat now..

Sorry for so many posts. My wife said lets get a boat this year, I have the money for the boat. But now I cant find one i like, or if i like it then it ends up being sold. Its a hard life looking for a boat!!LOL

Everyone using the tax refunds. This is the buying season for boats. Keep looking one will pop up

One more question, do these twin motor burn a lot of gas? I hear that they can go through 15 gallons an hour.

Full throttle you will and than some. Most people do about 2/3 -3/4 throttle only suffers a few MPH but saves a lot of gas. Dual Rotax's were replaced with the single mercruiser V6 2-stroke that got better mileage but harder to be worked on since seadoo dealers don't like to work on them and most mercruiser dealers won't work on them. Also the engines are very expensive to replace. Most of the large engine skis burn almost that much fuel per hour. I have GP1200 that goes through a tank(13 gals) in 1 1/2 hours or so.

Alright i feel better about it then, Also where does everybody get insurance from and about how much is it?

I have a 1997 Challenger 1800 and I use Sea-Safe and it costs me $344 a year. I am interested to see if others have a better deal than me. I also am in Central Virginia outside of Lynchburg, regional differences may apply.

Thats about the going price if its all in good shape. I would only buy it after a water test though. Thats my personal preference. My speedster with twin 787's can burn a lot of gas. Ive burned up 30 gallons in just over an hour. It can get expensive quick. I use BoatUS for insurance and its 280 a year. Make sure to compare actual value to agreed value. Blue book values on these boats are lower than it cost to replace them. With all the mods, i have it insured at an agreed value of 8500 without the trailer.

My 98' Sportster 1800 insured with Allstate for $6000, $600 equipment, w/trailer for $1500 for $161 a year. Also includes 10K for medical and 300K liability. My price might be lower than most because I insure all my stuff with Allstate. Cars, house, ATVs, Motorcycles, PWC, and umbrella. Also live in Chicago; can't ride them all year.

did you buy the boat?
I have same challenger, and one thing i missed was the weed gate cable ( not attached). Apparently the weed gates might get caught at the launch and bugger things up. Keep reading these posts. Love the boat, and depends on how you drive it will determine your fuel usage. I've had it our over 5 hours and only used 2/3 of a tank, and mostly 75% throttle, but thats fast enough on wavy water.

I think i'm at $275 with Progressive,, fair enough for me, and that does include towing as well.

Hey guys thanks for all the responses and help. I still yet to have seen the boat. Its like everybody puts stuff up for sale on craigslist then never returns calls, or they are to busy to let you come over and look at it and give them money!!!!LOL The journey continues..........
