Glue for mirror glass?

Whats the best stuff to use?

In the automotive field I have always used some sort of permatex. Black is good for oil and water so I use the black RTV. Goop up the back of the mirror. Ball up a rag so that it is taller than the mirror housing when you place it against the mirror itself.Wrap paper or another rag around the mirror and wrap it all up with tape and leave it for 24 hours. It will be there forever..
