Ongoing problem...
96 XP runs great for about 30-45 minutes, then starts to lose power and stall in the water. This only happens when jumping waves, not riding on flat water.
Today, I think I narrowed the problem down. I noticed that it would do it right after I jumped and landed in the water, and the engine raced while in the air. It feels like it is sucking all the fuel out of the lines while it high-revs in the air, and then is starving for fuel when it lands and starts to stall.
To test my hypothesis, I landed, and as it started to stall, I pumped the primer a few times and it would run fine for about 10-15 seconds and eventually, if I stopped jumping, the fuel system would catch up with me and run fine until I jumped again.
Then when I got it home, I tried to run it on the hose and for the first time ever, it tried to do the "runaway engine" on me so I pulled the key before it got out of control.
This has been going on since I bought the ski, and I just swapped all the lines to 5/16" and it seems to have made this issue worse.
I will probably redo the lines with 1/4", but do you think I have a fuel pump problem as well?
