fuel filter issue?

The fuel pump discs have blue lines on them, they go on a specific direction. They're cut from a roll and have a natural curve to them. If the curve is the wrong way they will not seal and pull fuel.

OK I used cheapo carb rebuild kits.I KNOW I did NOT look for the curve on the disc. I'm getting it out of storage next week. Thanks
