Just bought my 2006 Seadoo Utopia 205 with twin 155's. They told me an oil change was done and the boat was used for 10 hours before I bought the boat and I used it maybe 2 hours. The oil looks like it hasn't been changed in two years. Ok that's not the big challenge. Just did an oil change on both engines. It went fairly smooth. Now when I start the engines, engine 1 or the right engine.... the check engine like it on. Wasn't on before. Oil level is good and nothing else was done to the boat yet (spark plugs). Can anyone shed some light on this. I checked everything and no wires got pulled, everything is as it should be. Sorry for the rambling and thanks for your help.

These engines are very sensitive to oil levels. Make sure the oil level is in the middle of the oil dip stick. You may need a CanDoo to check the cause of the check engine light.

Maybe is the best I can do if the cause was too much or too little oil. You may need a CanDoo to show the code that caused the check engine light to come on. The cause may be something entirely different.

For what it's worth... When we bought out 2010 Challenger last year it was over filled with oil, turned this kept giving us random oil related codes. Oil level is critical on the 4 techs.

FWIW, Another hint for any 4-dtroke engine with too much oil is if observation of the dip stick reveals air bubbles, it's highly likely there's too much oil in the crankcase.

When these guys who've been the done that say oil level is critical, they know what they're saying. Follow owners manual and shop manual instructions to the T on everything and if something doesn't match or make sense, always ask questions.

Obtain copies of owners and shop manuals, memorize and reference them, you'll be glad you did! :)
