Anyone know what grade the M8x20mm fkywheel bolts are for the seadoo 4tecs ?

I want to replace them for installation on a new motor but I want to do it over the weekend and not wait+overpay for their bolts when I could potentially buy 50 for half the price.

Flywheel bolts are torqued then degreed so they are stretched. Want to ensure I can still manage that without breaking something, but also want to be savvy enough to not blindly buy a part thats potentially highly available to consumers.

Flywheel bolts for the 4 Tec engines are rotation to yield bolts, you would be taking a huge gamble to find and use bolts that would torque and fit properly. I have never seen bolts from any of my suppliers that gave a torque spec other than the one you use from SAE standards let alone know how much would be needed for the flywheel. There are a few threads that show where a failed bolt did a huge amount of damage, look at those and then see if you still want to go this route.

Yeah... I probably won't lol. I did some additional research and you are correct, I was under the impression TTY bolts was simply a methodolgy of tightening and not based on how the bolt/screw is made. It is a combination of both, the tightening method along with different way the bolt is made. thanks for confirming.

ARP 134-1002 bolts, red loctite, 30ft/lbs and clean the crank threads with brake cleaner.
