Hi Guys, My info Centre packed up on my 99 GTX limited Edition so I got a used one off ebay, just fitted it and all good until I looked at the hours, before my doo had done just under 100 hours now it is showing 400 hours.
Does any one know if they can be reset???:ack:

Many Thanks

Dave

I think the hour meter is in the MPEM not in the display.

Did you replace the MPEM computer as well?

I never heard of a way to reset it or program it.

Im not trying to sell it, but its buggin me that it now says 395 Hour when it did say around 100 hours on the old one. I also would of thought that the info would be in the Mpem but It cant be as I have only changed the Info centre..

is yours fuel injected? I think the gtx di is fuel injected and has an info center in it, maybe that is what the differance is?

If the hour meter is truly in the MPEM and all you did was change the panel, then I would say the panel is mis-interpretting the information it is receiving from the MPEM. Therefore, there must be some difference in the calibration of the two panels of the two years.

I here what you are saying but that sound a tad strange..
Can any one else confirm that the run time is stored in the info centre?
Im sure it must be?

I really think it is one of two things either the panel stores the miles/hours, or the cluster is different, and I think a fuel injected cluster is different then a carbbed version as the fi model is able to spit out codes and the info center has warning lights related to the fi motor I believe, so wires may be in different spots? Check a flow chart and I bet that some of the wires are in different spots........manufactures do things like that on purpose imagine if you could take your cluster and put it in an 2008 or 2009...how would they make money? I may be wrong but I do not think a fuel injected panel is compatable with your model....but like I said I could be wrong.......why did you change the panel out?

Panic over a Off Shore Performance in Poole have told me that the information is in the info centre (from the old ski, the one off ebay)
will hold the hours, but also the MPEM will still contain the hours off my ski and they should be able to plug in the pc and get the correct info on the info centre.
