I heard a pretty loud noise and lost a bit of power when i got back to the cottage i checked the intake grate and noticed fishing like wrapped around the driveshaft

does anyone know an easy way to get it out, is the loss of power because of the fishing line or damage ?

fishing line

btdt
take away intake grate and carefuly burn the line to pieces or cut it with small, sharp knife (I had a dull one and it took me over an hour, nice strong braided line)
good luck

i was able to get this fishing line out today but there is still something wrong, i changed the plugs and it still feels there is missing power, the best way to describe it is it feels like its slipping and it makes a pretty loud noise on take off, it also lost that howl when you jump a wave or open it up. any help would be appreciated thanks

okay i will bring it in to get looked at thanks for all the help, i will try and return the favor when possibe

compression

My mechanic at work said before i get the wear ring replaced i should check the engine compression, it was 150 psi in both cylinders, he was pretty shocked because of the age of the sea doo, but we dont have the numbers its suppose to be, is 150psi the proper psi on a 95 spx?

Why is your mechanic mixing two unrelated issues? Was the craft running fine before the fishing line entanglement? If yes, then it should be clear it was the fishing line causing the cavatation/wear-ring issue. If you heard a 'bang' you probably swallowed up a lure/reel together w/ the line since lines don't usually hang out on their own - which may be the cause for the wear-ring damage. The craft won't run properly until your shaft/wear-ring is inspected and replaced.

I believe 140-150 sounds about right and you should move on from continuing compression diagnosis, hopefully you'll get another opinion to back this up.

sea doo impeller

does anyone know where i can find a impeller for a 1995 sea doo spx, everyone tells me it is discontinued any there is nothing they can do.

94 spx and 95 spx

i was able to buy a 94 spx for the price of a solas impeller for my 95 spx, i was wondering if i could take the impeller off of the 94 and use it on my 95 thanks for all the help so far

thanks

finally good news.. thanks everyone for all the help,

the guy who sold me the 94 spx said there was a broken bearing on the crank, would it be worth fixing this ? i bought the 94 spx with a 2001 trailer for 600$

also the guy told me he bypassed the oil injection and now i have to mix the gas, which oil should i use for this now? will this cause issues ? and what ratio would i mix the gas and oil, 1 litre or every 20 litres of gas ?

not keened in on the metric system, but wanna mix at 40/1....16oz oil to 5gal fuel.
i'd run any "premix" oil, that contains the api-tc logo on it, which probably find any dirtbike/quad place....Castor947..exp

i agree, use 40 to 1.

timmyboy76,
It's simple, 1 liter of oil to 20 liters of gas is equal to 20 to 1. So, to get 40 to 1 you have to mix 1/2 a liter of oil into 20 liters.
