My buddy hit the front of my seadoo today and cracked my front bumper. When I took the bumper off I found that some of the paint is gone off the Fiber glass lip. If I put a new bumper on you won't even see it. Is that ok or should I get it fixed somewhere?image.jpg

I would fix the fiberglass so it is sealed. Although you wont see it, you don't want water getting in there and swelling up the fiberglass.

I agree, even though this is hidden under the bumper it needs to be sealed back up. Exposed fiberglass is not a good thing on a boat.

I am not an expert fiberglass/gelcoat repair person, but have done some gelcoat repairs on my boat. From the looks of it, most of the damage appears to be chipped off gelcoat. Near the force of the hit it does look like some fiberglass has been damaged. You will most likely need some fiberglass repair and then reseal everything with gelcoat.

Since this is a hidden area and not structurally important, I might try to fix it myself after some fiberglass research. If you don't feel this is something you would like to experiment with then take it to a professional and be done with it.

Get it fixed somewhere and see if your buddy offers to pick up the tab or find a new buddy.

If don't mind me asking - How did this damage happen? i.e. What did your buddy hit? A dock? Another Jet Ski/Boat? etc. Just curious as I have this exact model and am interested in what will cause that damage... Thanks!

Thanks for the replies. I will bring it to a Fiberglass shop and get it fixed. Really sucks to have a new seadoo and this happen so fast. I hope the shop can do a good job. This happened on the water, I was on my seadoo and my buddy was on his. I went to pull in beside him to talk he wasn't looking spun around and bang.
