You guys gotta stop selling crack, cause all this fun is getting expensive.

Phase I upgrades 1st Season:

1) HTurf: First and perhaps best upgrade for the money.

2) Hawkeye Depth Finder: Must have, keeps Helmsman alert – thanks KK for your thread. Also see the Norcross website.

3) Stereo: Indulged with Alpine 118M, 4 Infinity Marine 6.5” speakers, wireless remote. Head unit controls USB-wired Ipod with big screen menus. Sounds great as-is with plenty of clean sound at all but WOT, as even the 6.5’s produce nice base with the hull acting as enclosure. Further add ons would simply be to blow everyone everyone else outta the water. Thanks Sako, Fearthisinc, RFoster, others.

4) Keelguard: Simple add provides peace of mind and encourages gentle nose-up beaching.

5) Fulton Swing-Away Bracket: She’ll now stow in the garage instead of wintering outside in sub zero temps. Provides for comfortable winter UGI projects, HA!

6) LED Courtesy Bulbs: Cool , cheap, easy install. May not need extra LED cabin strings, but will definitely convert nav lites to LED. Thanks Timhood, Tresvatos, Phildoo, Woosab, RF.

Likely Phase II UGI’s:

1) Upgrade ’04 S200 Plastic Pumps: Not sure on this one, but may help mitigate some cavitation while pulling up slalom. Any suggestions?

2) Dual Batteries, Switch and On-board Tender: IMO all boats should have these. Thanks RF.

3) Stainless Ski Pylon: Replace gumby stock pylon, courtesy of Scoop’s Blacksmithing.

4) Replace Exhaust Muffler: Patched a wear-hole in the port side muffler, may just replace

5) SAT Radio: Planned on this with SAT ready receiver upgrade. Already an XM subscriber with modular unit, just need to install a wiring harness and antennae.

6)Add 2 Bow Speakers, Sub, Amp: Not necessary, but can see it happening.

7) Pimp My Helm: Trick racing wheel and an ear piercing aooga horn upgrade are tempting, but that would just be shameless and wasteful festooning, no?

Hell, it would be easier to just upgrade to a new boat, and there’s a nagging fear of experiencing major engine, jet or electrical issues and it’ll be heavy reliance on Doc H or SDSnipe.

Nah, so far the S200 is a blast, bonus that it has been reliable and sturdy.

This forum is tremendous, kudos and thanks again.

Do you have a 1st or 2nd Edition 04 S200? I have the 1st and was considering the plastic pump switch. There is a difference in the pump part #'s from the 1st & 2nd editions.

Glad I could help influence you!! Adding mods to these boats is like crack..lol, I love to keep adding mods. I got some stuff planned for the winter too. I will hopefully start a thread on it all soon.

You got a good lookin boat. I would love to get a Speedster 200, hopefully in the next 2 years. As much as I have spent modding miine though I could have almost bought a used 200. OH well, at least it is the way I like it. I have fun doin it all. Just wish I actually got the boat out more. I only took it out 5 times this year.

5 times this year.... I did 5 times this week!!!! But this is still a new boat for me.... July 3rd.

that is the reason I bought a 98'. I want to make sure I use the boat often before I go and invest alot of money. I told the wife that if we use it often this year and next year that we will upgrade. the new question is.... upgrade to a new ski boat or a 28 foot cruiser???????????

sorry for the thread hijack moose head... i sent you a PM

and I took it out 3 times this week....lol

Haha, you sound like us. We've only had ours for a month and already have 23 hours on the motor. It'd be much more if it would just stop raining.

not alot of rain but it was cold this week end... 55 at night and we still went out!!!

I dont have an hour gauge.... but I have kept gas receipts... $940 and 5 gallons of oil at $39 each :):hurray:

Jcrango, not sure, but looks like I have the 1st edition based on comments that the 2nd edition was fitted with a waketower. Need to dig into this plastic pump issue a bit more for cost benefits.

RF, your boat looks new and I'd bet you get much of your investment back. That said, Break Out Another Thousand brutha. Hope you get more free time, maybe a bigger boat allows more family outings?

As for boating hours vs. investment, I made the fatal mistake of assuming that if we blew a bunch of money, then the wife would agree to get underway more often, so to speak.

JW, per your PM, see Timhood's comment #10 in below thread for the 30mm festoon bulbs from here: www.superbrightleds.com
