Exhaust Hose keeps ripping/tearing

Great - I'll check that as soon as possible! Thanks for the info. When stuff like this happens I always feel better when I can find
a cause then just fixing it and hoping it doesn't happen again...!

Thanks for the help!

Lama ! Ive solved my problem, i wish it was the same problem that you were having but by the sounds of it thats not the case.

Took it out for a rip on sunday and it ran perfect, all it was for me was the spring in the regulator was missing. got the spring in and now the exhaust gets cooled properly and no more popping exhaust hoses.

PS: picked up hose for $15 a foot, instead of $25 per section. Its called MAXX "Petro MAXX" way more heavy duty than the ones on there.

hope something here helps you !

Great for you drew! If you read a few posts back I was given an idea to check a bolt that may have loosened or fell out. Unfortunately
the bolt was still there and pretty tight although I did tighten it a little.

Anyways I'm back to square one but I had it out Sunday and it ran fine except the maintenance light came on briefly when I started
it. I know how to clear that (of course I found out now to clear it on this site  so I started it up to clear it and of course the
"Maint" light didn't come on.....:banghead:

Of course my day started with me taking my truck in to the hitch place who did my wiring as I was having an issue with the
truck wires - even with the truck off I had dim trailer tail lights so I obviously I had a hot wire somehow. I asked them if they needed
the trailer - nope so I took the truck in by itself. Of course they couldn't find an issue so I ran and got the trailer (stored
20 min away) and took it in. Yes you guessed it - the problem would not duplicate itself - once again - :banghead:

So I took everything home and used the time tonight to check that bolt and do some cleaning. Plug the trailer in to
drive away and......yep the trailer tail lights were on and dimmed....:banghead: So now I'm going to try taking it in in the AM
but I'm sure when I plug the trailer in tomorrow morning the lights will be fine. :willy_nilly:

Anyway on the hose issue I changed it to a metal reinforced hose used in oil rigs. If this blows I'm in deep doo doo.

Really glad you got yours up and running!

An update to this thread....I had replaced the last exhaust hose with a hose meant for oil rigging....I used it last year and thru to this year 2 weeks ago....(probably about 30 hours or so) and 2 weeks ago at the beginning of the week holiday....yep the hose pretty much burnt through again...

It didn't totally burn through like the previous OEM and replacement due to the wiring inside the hose but much longer and it would
have....fortunately I had an ready back-up. What a PITA to get the old one off as I had to clip the wire, cut the rubber, clip the next
wire etc.

Anyhow Doowacka gave me some great suggestions to check the regulator and connected hoses and elbow for blockages. We checked
and ran compressed air through them - no blockages, ran air through the regulator (bellows worked), and verified the elbow was clear.

I was hoping this was the issue because this is the 3rd one I've replaced and it just baffles me why.

I will re-check that the lines are ran correctly but other than that......help!

You have the long line that goes to the exhaust on the right outlet of the regulator, and the small line from the pump on the right one, right? They have arrows pointing directions in and out. You have dissassembled and put the water regulator back together and verified it is working right?

Yep but I will check it again to be "110%" sure. I have already checked this including the disassembly but another check won't hurt. Usually these things are a fore-head slap moment when fixed.....

Can this be checked on the water easily? If I take off one hose and see if water comes out for example?

Update - rechecked hose lines and everything is correct as I thought.

I'm going to replace the regulator with another one I have and see how that fares.

As I asked before - can this function be checked easily while in the water?
