Excessive amounts of water in 97 XP hull

So I haven’t run my jet ski in about a year, since it was broken down. It was recently fixed and I took it out yesterday to make sure everything was working. After probably 20 minutes of running we stopped and let it sit for a few minutes while we messed around on the lake. I came back and took the seat off only to see that the hull was filled halfway with water. This can’t be normal, right? It drained fast while it was running, and drained completely on the trailer, but it’s got me a little worried, especially because it hydrolocked last summer.

I always ride my skis with the seat off for the first 5 minutes after I do so work. Put the ski on the hose in the driveway. If you don't see any leaks. raise the front of the ski and add water. I don't let the water come up to high on the engine. The last lead I found was at the seam in the rear or my XP. If water can get out it can get in.

Secure the ski to your trailor,,,,rear cover off,,,slowly back it into the water,,,have a very powerful flashlight with you.

A common issue for water entering the hull on the 97 xp is the front air feed tubes. These do not seal completely against the lid. I had this same issue myself. This is because of the nose being so heavy and diving under the water. This issue was corrected in year 2000.

I purchased these from home depot and installed them and have no longer had issues with water in my hull

Attached are the link for the part and photos of where they go
