Engine bog down upon acceleration after idle from dock

Purchased a 1997 Speedster with twin 717's last year. Boat runs great except for the following.
When boat idles for a while as getting out of dock area or idling down a no wake zone - when I try to get up on plane the boat struggles for 20-30 seconds to get up on plane. After this initial bogging down the boat performs excellent. It seems like the extended idle causes this. Is this from low idle fouling out the plugs? Is this normal for this engine, mode year.

Good chance your accelerator pumps aren't working on the carbs, you can remove the intake screens and have someone briskly open the throttle all the way and watch to see if the injector nozzle squirts fuel into the throttle body to verify operation.
